Heavy Duty Mechanic/Technician - Shovels

We are hiring a number of Heavy Duty Mechanics/Technicians for our Kearl Oils Sands Operations on a fly in, fly out rotational schedule out of Edmonton or Calgary. Reporting to a Mine Maintenance Supervisor, these positions are responsible for the day to day maintenance of the Shovel Fleet in a fully functional oil sands operation.

Responsibilities

  • Working in a safe and efficient manner maintaining Hydraulic and Electric Shovels;
  • Adhering to all safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures;
  • Taking part in all training requirements;
  • Working a rotating schedule of 10 days in/10 days out for 12 hour day/night shifts in a 24/7 operation;
  • Record information related to maintenance repairs and work completed;

Qualifications

  • Heavy Duty Journeyman Mechanic eligible to work in Alberta;
  • Related experience within the Oil Sands Mining sector would be an asset;
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License;
  • Strong preference for candidates with high school diploma or equivalency;
  • Able to work both independently and respectfully as a supportive team member;
  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong commitment to safe operations and continuous improvement;
  • Proficiency on computer and computerized tools usage;

  • Record information related to maintenance repairs and work completed;
